Rehabilitation after surgery
After an operation, the rehabilitation that follows largely determines how fully function and capacity return. The protocols of the operating hospital always take precedence.

Post-operative rehabilitation is the structured restoration of mobility, strength, and function after a procedure, guided by the phases of tissue healing and the surgeon's protocol.
The phases of post-operative care
Protection phase
Managing pain and swelling, respecting the permitted range of motion, and early activation within what has been cleared.
Restoration phase
Regaining mobility, activating muscle deliberately, and making everyday movements feel safe again.
Loading phase
Systematically increasing strength and endurance, raising coordinative demands, and working on equipment in measured doses.
Return phase
Training the specific demands of your sport or job, simulating peak loads, and planning relapse prevention.
Common pitfalls
- Returning to full load too early because the pain has eased
- Staying in protection mode too long out of fear of causing damage
- Missing strength gains because only mobility is trained
- No plan for the final stage of returning to full daily or athletic demands
How we guide your rehabilitation
We work along the medical rehabilitation protocols and add a structured training progression, including equipment-based therapeutic exercise where appropriate. The goal is not only freedom from pain, but function you can rely on.
